*while stroking a furry…cat* Yesss…sooon I will post a plethora of stuff so EEEVIL you will be unable to look away from the pure HORROR!
dun Dun DUUUN!!!
No seriously though, SCHOOOLS (almost) OUT FOR SUMMA! (that’s summer for those of you that aint gangsta enuff)
After May 1st I will start posting way more stuffies. There will be some Miscrits art as the new zones are released, concepts and sketches that never made it into the game, some personal fine art that I’ve created over the years (not fine as in” sexay,” fine as in “non-digital”), my 3D Maya final project I’ve been working on for the past couple months, and last but not least I will eventually release concept art for a Graphic Novel I’ve been working on and possibly ask for feedback as well.
I want to start doing some sort of contests again too like I’ve done in the past many moons ago…if I have the time with all this other junk I want to do…but I NEED FEEDBACK to know if people are interested. If I don’t get enough interest, it just won’t be worth my time, so please COMMENT on here, or Deviant Art, or send a message through Facebook or Twitter, or whatever the hell you want to do. I just need to know that people out there care. Anyways, have a great time until next time…

WE WANT YOU! To help our company, Broken Bulb Studios, in creating it’s newest and most innovative game to date, with mobile strategy-based game play and Ninjas! WHAT!? Innovative you say? Strategy-based AND mobile? NINJAS!?!? You heard me right, go check it out and please tell everyone you can because we need all the backers we can get! If you’re unfamiliar with kickstarter.com, basically it’s a website that allows people to post or back ideas for projects that need financial backing. We have posted an informative video with some images as well, and need backers (people who pledge $) to reach our goal. There’s incentive the more money you pledge, and if we don’t meet our goal, you don’t have to pay ANYTHING…but if we do, you get things like prizes, free in-game cash, or dinner with the creators!

For those of you who’ve ever been curious about how we generally go about making a Miscrit, I thought I’d give you our basic outlines. Obviously there’s more that goes into it than this, but in essence this is what our artists do for most every Miscrit. If you have trouble reading/viewing the image, just click on it to see a larger version.

More and more Miscrits, it just never ends! This time enjoy some sketches of your favorite, or maybe not so fav Miscrits…and if you don’t like them, well eff you dude. You may notice some of them have evolved since the sketch phase, check out the changes, it shows our thinking process.
After this I’m posting the Miscrits creation process!

Awesome, it’s Miscrits again! These are all previously unreleased, and most can be found on Brokenbulb’s new Miscrits game Monk’s Mountain.
Next I’ll be releasing sketches, and the Process for creating a Miscrit! After that I’ll release the Miscrits that go inside the Mountain, and let me tell you…they just get meaner 😉

Welp I’m back in business. My back is getting better because of some changes I’ve been making, and now I’m ordering an Ergotron LX (for those of you who’ve never heard of it, it’s a BADASS pivoting arm that you can attach a flatscreen monitor, Cintiq, laptop, or tablet too…google it!)
So, today I’ve decided to start sharing some Miscrits artwork with you all! First are the backgrounds, and oh how ooey gooey delicious they look, like little candy cane lands lol. After these I’ll post the Miscrits I made for Monk’s Mountain, and then the sketches for those Miscrits, so check back the next couple of days!

So I went to the chiropractor, and in an X-ray I kind of look like a merry-go-round animal. My spine is way too straight, definitely due to excessive artings, but things are getting better! I’m getting regular check-ups, and starting to feel pretty good. My back still bothers me, along with other crap that happens when you sit at a computer for hours a day, but I’m trying to make more positive changes to fix it all. My wife and I have already been eating these salad shaker things on a daily basis. If you haven’t heard, they’re great, you just layer a mason jar with salad ingredients and shake it up when you want a salad. You have to make sure you start with the dressing and then the mushy stuff on the bottom so you don’t wilt your greens, but if you do it right it lasts for a whole week!
Anyways, enough about my boring life, here’s some artistry!
This is the first major 3D image I’ve ever made. It still has some things I’d like to fix about it, but for a first I’m very happy with how it turned out and I hope you’ll like it too! It was made in Maya 2012 and took, I dunno, too long.

…but unfortunately for me it’s a reality. My back is seriously effed up at this point, so sadly I will have very little time spent on the PC even though there are a ton of things I want to post. Wish me luck, I’m going to need it. I just went to the Chiropractor the other day and things aren’t looking so hot. I won’t know the severity until he looks over the X-rays so cross your fingers.
In the meantime, here is a cute Valentines Day Hippo I did for my wife a few weeks ago

It has been quite some time since I’ve posted to my blog so I feel inclined to let you all know I still step foot on this earth 🙂 Unfortunately school+work has been kicking my ass, so much so that I’ve had to set aside doing freelance indefinitely. I know I will be posting some new work within the coming months, but currently there isn’t much polished stuff to show (except for Miscrits artwork). I’ve been having some serious back problems and will be seeing a Chiropractor, so I haven’t had the will-power to do any more personal paintings unfortunately, but I can let you in on a few things. The new Miscrits Monk’s Mountain should be released later today (Tuesday) if all goes well, so there will be a huge in-flux of work to show from that! Also I will be creating some “gift artwork” to thank a few people from my wedding a few months back, and also for my friend Megan whose wedding is coming up in June. On top of all of this I’ve been studying up a bit more on digital painting techniques, and learning a lot about Maya in one of my classes which focuses on 3D modelling. My mind has also been brimming with endless ideas for a Graphic Novel I’ve been thinking of for a couple years now, and it just keep filling up and up. It still has a looong way to go, but the plan is to focus on it during the summer and once schools out. If you’re interested in learning a little more, I’ll give a slight tid-bit of information: It’s geared towards adults, and will be set about 50 years in the future. The main character is an anti-hero who gathers a rag-tag group of vigilantes to fight against a new oppressive regime of capitalism that dominates the future. Of course there’s a lot more to it than that, just keep your pants on…
