OK, I’m alive.

So I went to the chiropractor, and in an X-ray I kind of look like a merry-go-round animal.  My spine is way too straight, definitely due to excessive artings, but things are getting better!  I’m getting regular check-ups, and starting to feel pretty good.  My back still bothers me, along with other crap that happens when you sit at a computer for hours a day, but I’m trying to make more positive changes to fix it all.  My wife and I have already been eating these salad shaker things on a daily basis.  If you haven’t heard, they’re great, you just layer a mason jar with salad ingredients and shake it up when you want a salad.  You have to make sure you start with the dressing and then the mushy stuff on the bottom so you don’t wilt your greens, but if you do it right it lasts for a whole week!

Anyways, enough about my boring life, here’s some artistry!

This is the first major 3D image I’ve ever made.  It still has some things I’d like to fix about it, but for a first I’m very happy with how it turned out and I hope you’ll like it too!  It was made in Maya 2012 and took, I dunno, too long.

    Sweet, renders of early instruments!
But (7-course) lutes usually have the top string single rather than double, stripes on the back that meet at a point at the base, as many pegs as strings, and I think that inlay pattern in the top wouldn’t work in practice. What’s the instrument beside it? Looks like an alto recorder with a few holes missing, an odd mouthpiece, and a double reed stuck in the end?
Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
